With minimal simplification, Roy Phillippe has adapted the first movement of Mozart's beloved serenade to the capabilities of a developing string ensemble. Faithful to Mozart's original harmonies and scoring this selection is a beautiful way to introduce young performers to a true masterpiece of the string orchestra repertory.

A beautifully scored selection that weaves together two beloved English Folk songs, Greensleeves and Scarborough Fair, Ron Gorow's arrangement presents the melodies separately in richly harmonized versions before combining them. The harmonic style is modal and some optional solo passages are included. This is a fine, serious contribution to the literature from a gifted writer, new to the Carl Fischer catalog.
